Obedience, leash and command training for dogs of all ages, breeds and abilities

Kennel Cough

We have been made aware of a dog at the club who has been diagnosed with Kennel Cough. This is highly contagious for dogs and can cause respiratory issues if not treated. The symptoms are lessened if your dog is vaccinated, but still causes problems.
If your dog has a dry, hacking cough that sounds like something is stuck in their throat, can also be followed by a dry retching or gagging sound, sometimes vomiting, then go to the vet. Symptoms take three to seven days to present.

Do not let your dog out in a public area once you see symptoms, as it will easily spread to other dogs. See a vet instead and let them know prior to visiting what you think the issue is so you don't spread it to other dogs in the waiting room.
